Since I have a good idea of what I want the helmet to look like I have started to modeling it. I didn't import a drawing of a top and side view, I decided to just go for it without guidelines, which is probably a bad idea most of the time, but this time it worked out fine and turned out pretty good.
I might add a bit more detail but not too much or else the UV mapping will be killer to do. I plan to keep everything at game level polys, after all, I'm focusing on the texturing so I don't want to spend too much extra time creating super realistic high poly models.
